Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. At least, I love the idea of it. I love the houses lit up at night, I love the traditional carols and even Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" I love how its the one time of year you can actually hear songs about Jesus on secular radio stations. Yes, Christmas generates a warm, fuzzy feeling in most of us.
Did you know that one child dies every 30 seconds due to preventable disease - because of contaminated water? I read this in a Samaritans Purse ad last year. When I read this, it wasn't anywhere near Christmas, but the first thing that popped into my head was "Children are dying, and we are worried about what to buy each other for Christmas!!"
Lets face it - most of us have everything we need, and then some. And if we want more there is a Walmart near by! If I need socks and a kettle - I go to the mall and come home with probably more than that. We are a society of excess.
My children have so many toys that it is hard to walk in the basement without tripping on things that are all over the floor. There are children in Africa who have never even played with a ball.
There are also many people right here in my city who do not have enough to eat, and who sleep in the streets, in sub-zero temperatures.
This Christmas, we, as a family, are going to think less of ourselves and more of others. We are going to give to the charities who provide clean water to those in need. We are going to give to the food bank. We are going to do this for our family and friends, as our gift to them. We are doing this in the name of Jesus Christ. I'm sure they will appreciate this much more than anything we could buy at Walmart.
Welcome to my crazy, but blessed life!

Coca Cola used to be green, and other stupid urban myths people believe
It was never green. Coke, that is. The first bottles were made out of green glass, but the drink itself was always brown. Do a little research and you find out the same.
I overheard someone today say that apparently Mc Donalds Apple Pies are actually made out of turnips. Yes, and they also grind up cow eyeballs and put them in their burgers. NOT!! Come on people!! Where is the logic in that!! First of all, the apples in the McD's pies are apples. Turnips are not in the ingredient list, and, by law, they have to list all the ingredients because there are so many people with food allergies these days. Not to mention food intollerances, and a wealth of other problems.
As for cow eyeballs? Please, this shouldn't even need explaining. Why would they go to all that trouble? The average cow only has 2 eyes - this should make them a delicacy.
And don't even get me started on the e-mails. Chances are, if it says "This is not a Joke!" it probably is. And its also the product of someone who has way too much time on their hands.
My point is, people need to use thier brains more often. God gave us all the gift of logic. Look it up! Don't believe everything you read/hear and for goodness sake - if it sounds far-fetched that means it is!

Blah!
Ok so I have a Facebook Account. I am "friends" with over 140 people. Some people use their Facebook as a sort of venting blog... venting about their boss, or ex, or their kids teacher, or just people in general. I have chosen not to do that. For one thing, no one needs to hear every negative thought I have every minute of the day. Blog accounts are much better for doing that! And because I don't think hardly anyone reads this... here goes...
What is it with cliques?! Come on ladies - would it kill you to have another friend to join your group? Do you think so highly of yourselves that no one else could ever be worthy enough to be in your presence? I've always been the "more the merrier" type. Why can't we live in a world where no one excludes anyone, and no one rejects anyone for who they are?
But, I suppose I'll have to wait until I get to Heaven for that.

I guess Blogging is not my thing,..... yet?
Yes. I have only one post so far. Pathetic, I know.
You see, I forgot my user name and password, so I had to look them up - and get a new password.
Also, I started this Blog during the lazy days of summer, when there was nothing else to do... (and nothing on TV! HA ha) But, school has started since then, and as a Mom of 3, things got crazy.
I also don't really know what to write. I don't really expect strangers to read this, so I wont bother with introducing myself and my kids, etc. If you ARE reading this, you are probably related to me or are at least a polite friend. Thanks!
I would like to be more organized in my writing - I do have so many things that go through my mind all day every day. So hopefully, I will one day be able to be a good Blogger.
Until then, you may only "hear" from me once in a while!

What am I doing here?
My name is Sam. I am a 34 year old mother of 3 from Ontario, Canada.
To be honest, I'm not sure why I am starting this Blog. Maybe its because I wanted to be able to comment on my cousin Joanne's Blogs, so I created a google account. Or maybe its because I always loved journal writing, but never do it anymore. You see, actual writing hurts my hand, and takes so much longer than typing! But I digress... maybe no one will ever read this. I mean, theres nothing out of the ordinary about me. I am a stay-home Mom to my 3 boys, ages 7, 5, and almost 3.
I am a Christian first
I am a wife second
I am a mother third.
Life is an on-going adventure worth recording - otherwise we wouldn't have history books! Lets see how this goes...
